I am inspired by women who are striving to make a difference in the lives of others, including Leila Chirayath Janah, the founder of Samasource (sama means “equal” in Sanskrit).
Samasource is an organization that outsources simple data-entry and media-tagging tasks for companies like Google to people in low-income countries. Since 2008, Samasource has hired more than 1,200 workers, but “my dream is to show that we can become a $100 million organization with tens of thousands of workers. And do it as a nonprofit.”

The anticipation of launching a fashion line is overwhelming and exciting. It’s been a labor of love for us at Lotus Premium Denim. I personally did not think a simple idea could manifest itself into a lifestyle brand. But here we are, just three weeks away from announcing our product to the world. I hope that our jeans will make women everywhere smile with pure satisfaction. We wanted to design jeans that solved the problems many of us dreaded facing in the fitting rooms - horrible fits requiring alteration after purchase. Our jeans flatter your tush and elongate your legs in perfect length, right at the very start. Its such a simple need, but it’s surprising how poorly addressed it is, in today’s jeans market. I’m thankful we are able to focus on this need and deliver the very first style (a slim straight fit) called “Inspire” to the world on November 19, 2011. The fabric is imported from Italy, but we’re proudly made in Los Angeles, denim capital of the world. Lotus Premium Denim is made to fit you, beautifully.

Hello Ming,
Last night I saw you. No matter where I was, there you were, watching over me. You would look my way, reassuring me that I was okay. Your presence was calming, loving, and peaceful. You were beautiful! Though it was in silence, I felt your spirit, and I knew I was okay. Your smile had an effect on me – from it I felt the warmth of God’s love. Although I saw you several times, I did not approach you or acknowledge you, at first. To be honest, I was in shock. But you were probably thinking I did not believe you were there. But at the end when we were about to separate, and as I was leaving this huge building, I saw you were still inside, eyes fixed on me. And as the large glass doors started to close, I knew then this was my last chance to make a connection with you. For some reason, I knew I wasn’t dreaming anymore… I knew this was my real chance in reuniting with you! The second I screamed out your name, you gave me the biggest smile and ran to me! I hugged you like I never wanted to let you go! You didn’t say a word, but your smile told me you were so happy… You were at peace… And you just wanted us to know how much you love and miss us. You wanted me to know that you’ve been here with our family this whole time, silently listening to our prayers. And although dreams can’t directly communicate your messages, I felt this dream was a strong validation of what we’ve all prayed for… that in fact your strong spirit is alive, at peace, and never far from us! We are grateful for your love. Thank you, Ming. It was a true blessing to see you again. I miss you soooo much.
